About This Position
Position Overview
Heritage Wood Mills is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented CNC Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in woodworking and advanced manufacturing.
As a CNC Apprentice, you will work directly alongside our experienced CNC Operator and Shop Manager to learn machine setup, programming basics, material handling, and production workflow. This position offers a clear growth path into a full CNC Operator role for the right candidate.

What You’ll Learn
• CNC machine setup and safe operation
• Cabinet component production workflow
• Reading shop drawings and cut lists
• Basic CNC programming and tool paths
• Material optimization and quality control
• Machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Production efficiency best practices
Responsibilities
• Assist CNC Operator with machine setup and operation
• Load and unload sheet goods safely and efficiently
• Label, organize, and stage cabinet parts
• Perform quality checks on cut components
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety protocols and shop procedures
• Support overall shop production as needed
Qualifications
• No prior CNC experience required (we will train)
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Basic math skills
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Punctual and dependable
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
Preferred but Not Required:
• Woodworking experience
• Trade school or technical education
• Experience in construction or manufacturing

CNC Operator (6–18 months based on performance)
