Job Summary:
The Billing Navigator is responsible for providing a thorough and accurate collection of patient accounts. To provide support for the Community Health Workers (CHWs) as needed in the attainment of stated goals. This contributes to the financial stability of healthcare facilities, allowing them to continue providing quality care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assesses, tracks, and collects patient account balances.
- Assist in verifying eligibility for billing purposes.
- Performs insurance and billing functions including verifying patient account information to insurance program specifications.
- Follow-up on balances due from Payers
- Ability to understand ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- 6Electronic billing function, process charges, payments denials and adjustments.
- Performs insurance denial resolution.
- Works closely with the Community Health Worker (CHW) team to assure accurate and timely billing for Presumptive Medicaid, Newborn pending and Temporary Medicaid for Pregnant Women.
- Attains all agreed goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the Clinic’s overall mission.
- Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
