Summary of Primary Functions:

Dobbs Equipment is looking for a Staff Accountant. This position is responsible for posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned essential duty satisfactorily. (Below are examples, not all duties will be assigned to you but other duties may be assigned).

• Posts journal entries
• Reconciles Accounts
• Coordinates with branches on receiving and posting daily cash receipt and assists branch where needed, with reconciling cash on hand
• Communicates and coordinates additions and disposals of fixed assets for our depreciation records.
• Assists with Expense Reporting
• Assists with internal and external audits
• Assists with Accounts Payable functions
• Assists with Accounts Receivable functions
• Completes projects on time and accurately

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Valid Driver’s License
• Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree within an Accounting Field and 1+ years’ experience or equivalent experience.
• Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
• Computer skills need to be broad based.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to calculate accounting functions, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need the following: The ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and the ability to focus on a computer screen for extended periods of time.
