Job Description
Loch Harbour Group is seeking a Senior Writer & Media Coordinator (Writer SME) to provide senior-level writing, storytelling, editorial, and media outreach support for communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The role develops content that translates complex technical, scientific, and operational topics into clear, audience-focused communications products.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, edit, and coordinate communications products supporting leadership, workforce, stakeholder, and public-facing initiatives.
- Develop articles, newsletters, executive communications, talking points, fact sheets, web content, success stories, and outreach materials.
- Conduct interviews with leadership, technical SMEs, and stakeholders to gather information and identify story opportunities.
- Translate complex technical and programmatic information into accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Support recurring newsletters, editorial calendars, and content planning activities.
- Draft media pitches, article abstracts, and external publication content.
- Support media outreach, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Assist with communications campaigns, conferences, demonstrations, and outreach events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience producing communications products for government, technology, research, or public-sector programs.
- Experience developing executive comms, newsletters, and stakeholder-focused content.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting science, technology, cybersecurity, homeland security, or R&D programs.
- Media outreach, article pitching, or publication development experience.
- Familiarity with digital communications and social media support.
