Job Description: Capital NYC is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our internal and external communications. You will work closely with various departments to ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication strategies are in place, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and promoting the companys image.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with company goals.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute content for press releases, newsletters, social media, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to create and manage content for various channels, including web, social media, and print.
  • Coordinate media relations efforts, including pitching stories and managing media inquiries.
  • Monitor media coverage and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Organize and manage events, including press conferences, product launches, and internal meetings.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and channels.
  • Assist in crisis communication efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a communications or public relations role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Experience with media relations and a proven track record of successful media placements.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media and content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
