Engineering Manager, Relationship Intelligence

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager, Relationship Intelligence based in Canada.

This is a high-impact engineering leadership role focused on shaping and scaling a complex, data-intensive platform that transforms billions of professional interactions into actionable relationship insights. You will lead a team responsible for the core intelligence engine that powers how users discover, understand, and leverage their networks to drive business outcomes. The role blends technical depth with people leadership, requiring you to guide architecture decisions while actively contributing to development work. You will partner closely with Product and Design to define the roadmap and ensure the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance features. The environment is fast-moving and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on experimentation, iteration, and continuous improvement. You will also play a key role in hiring, mentoring, and scaling the engineering team while fostering a culture of technical excellence. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in complex systems, enjoys building at scale, and is motivated by both product impact and team growth.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead the development and evolution of a large-scale relationship intelligence platform while ensuring strong technical execution, team growth, and cross-functional alignment.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team responsible for core data-driven and insight-generating systems
  • Define and drive the technical and product roadmap in collaboration with Product Management and Design
  • Own the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-quality features across a complex, data-intensive platform
  • Participate actively in system design, architecture discussions, and hands-on feature development
  • Oversee Agile ceremonies and ensure effective execution through sprint planning, standups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Drive hiring efforts to scale the engineering team and close capability gaps as the product grows
  • Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality, performance, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Ensure engineering best practices are consistently applied across development, testing, and deployment
Requirements:

This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, engineering leadership experience, and the ability to thrive in high-scale SaaS environments.

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, building scalable web applications and data-heavy systems
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership roles with formal team mentorship responsibilities
  • Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams in SaaS or platform environments
  • Strong technical background in full-stack development, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong product mindset with a focus on delivering reliable, high-quality user experiences
  • Experience in CRM-style or relationship/data intelligence platforms is a plus
  • Familiarity with modern stacks such as React, TypeScript, Ruby, and Postgres is a plus
