This role is a high-impact leadership position responsible for guiding cross-functional engineering squads building scalable SaaS products for a fast-growing service commerce platform. You will play a key role in shaping technical direction, driving delivery excellence, and enabling high-performing teams to ship impactful products at scale. The position blends hands-on technical understanding with strong people leadership, requiring the ability to mentor engineers, align with product stakeholders, and remove delivery blockers. You will contribute to architecture decisions that support rapid iteration while maintaining system reliability and scalability. Working in an agile, distributed environment, you will help define engineering culture rooted in ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is a strategic role for an experienced engineering leader passionate about building products that transform how service-based businesses operate.
- Lead and manage multiple engineering squads, ensuring strong execution, delivery discipline, and alignment with product goals.
- Provide technical leadership across architecture and system design, guiding teams toward scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of software products, from planning and estimation through to production release and iteration.
- Partner closely with product management and other stakeholders to define priorities, scope experiments, and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and high performance.
- Promote engineering best practices, including agile methodologies, code quality standards, and efficient development workflows.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Identify and remove technical and organizational blockers to maintain smooth and predictable delivery.
- 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in a product-driven environment, ideally across multiple squads or tech stacks.
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience working in agile teams.
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and building high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to partner with product teams to deliver iterative, customer-focused solutions quickly and effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of agile development practices and experience leading agile engineering organizations.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to balance technical opinions and collaborative decision-making.
- Competitive compensation ranging from CAD 175,000 to 195,000 base salary, depending on experience and location
