Job Description
IMC Metals America/ Ames Copper Group is seeking a motivated and driven Human Resources Generalist to aid and contribute to the overall success and growth of our organization. The HR Generalist will report to HR Supervisor and will be part of a great team that together will continue to help build and grow our business.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for assisting in all HR Functions, including payroll, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
· Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, discussing complex and/or sensitive matters with the HR Supervisor with the ability to partner in the investigation as needed.
· Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and candidate assessments.
· Coordinates in-person New Hire Orientation sessions and ensures the onboarding process is smooth, efficient and is compliant with employment laws.
· Completes employment eligibility documentation, including I-9's and E-Verify in a timely manner.
· Promote a positive & cohesive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
· Be the key payroll person to process bi-weekly Payroll using Paylocity and assist employees with login and adjustments.
· Monitor and assist with employee morale and support employee engagement activities.
· Assist with Employee of the Month
· Assist with performance evaluation process.
· Assist with communicating employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
· Assist in the development of career development and training programs.
· Stay up to date with labor laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.
· Assist with promoting and making sure Safety protocols are in place and adhered to.
· Serve as the main liaison for uniforms, PPE vending, Security Guard communication, and Key Fob Administration.
· Provide general support to Visitors, cleanliness of the breakrooms and distribution of the mail.
· Special Projects: deliver HR initiatives through completion and create reports to track progress.
· Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:Qualifications
· Associate's degree in human resources, or Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
· 3-5 Years proven experience within Human Resources.
· Extreme attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficient in HR software and tools for recruitment and management (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
· Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
· Knowledge of employment laws, and regulations, such as ADA, FMLA, EEO, etc.
· Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism is a must.
· Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
