Job Description
The Senior Salesforce Business Analyst is a key member of the Salesforce delivery team, responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing Salesforce solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are translated into scalable Salesforce solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and mission outcomes.
The ideal candidate possesses strong business analysis, Salesforce administration, testing, troubleshooting, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills. This individual will collaborate across functional and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, resolve operational issues, support system enhancements, and ensure successful project delivery throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement· Solicit, gather, evaluate, and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, discovery sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
· Translate business needs into Epics, Features, User Stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria using Agile methodologies.
· Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirements grooming, stakeholder reviews, and other Agile ceremonies as needed.
· Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations teams, and technical resources throughout the project lifecycle.
· Conduct fit-gap analyses and recommend Salesforce-based solutions aligned with business objectives and platform best practices.
· Collaborate with Developers, Architects, Administrators, and Quality Assurance resources to ensure solutions meet business needs and functional requirements.
Salesforce Solution Support & Administration· Configure and optimize Salesforce functionality using declarative tools, including reports, dashboards, list views, flows, validation rules, permission sets, record types, and business process automation.
· Design advanced Salesforce reports, dashboards, and automation solutions to support operational and business reporting requirements.
· Analyze, troubleshoot, and triage business and technical issues; identify root causes, coordinate resolution efforts with development teams, and document corrective actions to ensure system stability and operational continuity.
· Monitor application performance, evaluate system behavior, and recommend enhancements that improve usability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
· Support production operations and ongoing adaptive maintenance activities.
Testing, Quality Assurance & Accessibility· Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, automated and manual test scripts, traceability matrices, and testing documentation.
· Support and coordinate System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, Accessibility Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
· Facilitate UAT sessions with business stakeholders, document results, track defects, and validate resolutions.
· Maintain testing metrics and regularly report on test effectiveness, test coverage, defects identified, and overall solution quality.
· Conduct browser and accessibility testing to support Section 508 compliance using tools such as ANDI, JAWS, WAVE, or similar accessibility validation tools, and coordinate remediation activities with development teams.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement· Identify project and operational risks, issues, and dependencies; develop mitigation plans, recommend workarounds, and escalate concerns as necessary to ensure successful delivery and ongoing operations.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to improve delivery efficiency, user adoption, system performance, and business outcomes.
· Support governance activities and promote Salesforce best practices across projects and operational support efforts.
Documentation & Training· Develop and maintain project and operational documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements, User Stories, Process Maps, User Guides, Training Materials, Quick Reference Guides, Data Dictionaries, and Release Documentation.
· Create communication materials and support organizational change management activities.
· Conduct end-user training sessions, knowledge transfer activities, and demonstrations for business and technical stakeholders.
Requirements: Required Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting Salesforce implementations, enhancements, and operational support activities.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working within Agile software development environments and all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
· Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Salesforce applications, including configuration and administration activities.
· At least one active Salesforce certification (Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst, Service Cloud Consultant, or higher).
· Demonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
· Demonstrated experience engaging with business stakeholders to identify requirements and map them to Salesforce solutions.
· Demonstrated experience configuring Salesforce and designing advanced reports, dashboards, list views, and declarative automation solutions.
· Demonstrated experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex business and technical issues within Salesforce environments.
· Demonstrated experience identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to support successful operations and project delivery.
· Demonstrated experience developing and executing system, regression, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.
· Demonstrated experience performing browser accessibility testing.
· Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
· Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Lucidchart, and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications· Multiple Salesforce certifications, including Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst, Service Cloud Consultant, Advanced Administrator, or other Salesforce credentials.
· Demonstrated experience automating manual tests, environment setup, and deployment processes using Jenkins, Salesforce Metadata API, Python, Selenium, Provar, or other automated testing frameworks.
· Demonstrated experience maintaining test results and reporting testing effectiveness metrics, including defect tracking, test coverage, and quality reporting.
· Experience supporting CI/CD and DevOps practices within Salesforce environments.
· Demonstrated experience supporting Section 508 compliance and accessibility testing initiatives.
· Experience working in Federal Government Salesforce environments.
· Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
· Project Management experience is a plus.
