About This Position
PURPOSE:
The Systems Analyst supports, enhances, and maintains Gentex’s SAP ERP landscape by ensuring stable, reliable, and efficient business system operations. This role bridges business needs with technical solutions, providing day-to-day support while also contributing to strategic systems development. Working closely with the Principal Systems Analyst, this position will progressively develop deeper SAP functional and technical expertise with the goal of assuming expanded responsibilities as part of long-term growth planning.
The successful candidate is a disciplined professional with good organizational skills and proven experience in managing business systems.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
· Provide Tier 1–2 technical support for SAP and related business applications; diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
· Perform system administration tasks, including user provisioning, security updates, and maintenance of system configurations.
· Support SAP transports, patches, upgrades, client refresh, and functional enhancements; participate in testing cycles.
· Conduct system testing for new features, integrations, and improvement initiatives.
· Deliver end-user support and training; develop training materials and documentation.
· Analyze business requirements and recommend solutions that align with Gentex’s digital transformation strategy.
· Collaborate with project teams to support system implementations, enhancements, and cross functional initiatives.
· Monitor and troubleshoot system interfaces, integrations, and background jobs.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system efficiency gains.
· Maintain awareness of SAP roadmap, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Role Development Responsibilities:
· Partner closely with the Principal Systems Analyst to cross train on core SAP administrative functions and technical processes.
· Gradually assume ownership of assigned SAP modules, integrations, or functional areas.
· Develop and maintain internal technical documentation, configuration records, and support playbooks to build organizational knowledge for long term continuity.
· Participate in long term system planning, architecture discussions, and implementation strategy.
Requirements:EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s):
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
· SAP or industry certifications are a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
· 3–5 years of experience supporting or administering enterprise business systems.
· Working knowledge of SAP ERP (S/4 HANA).
· Hands-on experience with application troubleshooting, system administration, and end-user support.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred:
· Experience with SAP Basis concepts (transports, system navigation, monitoring).
· Familiarity with SAP security and role-based access management.
· Understanding of system integrations (IDocs, RFCs, APIs, middleware).
· Experience working with manufacturing or government/DOD environments.
· Exposure to release/change management processes.
· Familiarity with SAP BTP, Cloud Connector, Integration Suite
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· General understanding of SAP Basis responsibilities, including transport management.
· Knowledge of SAP security and role maintenance.
· Ability to analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
· Solid understanding of business systems and common interface patterns.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.
· Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and changing project requirements.
· High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness of SAP user and system data.
· Strong documentation and knowledge-management habits to support long-term succession planning.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Position requires daily contact with employees, all departments, and management. Has contact with other Gentex locations on a frequent basis.

The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, written, and numerical intelligence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works majority of the day in a climate-controlled environment.

Generally, travel is not required

Gentex’s Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia. The area hosts numerous nearby state parks, nature preserves and local colleges and universities, including The University of Scranton and Marywood University.
