Industrial Operations / Continuous Improvement Internship
Scot Forge Company is looking to hire an Industrial Operations / Continuous Improvement Intern for the Summer of 2027 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. An operations/continuous improvement internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the manufacturing management and continuous improvement profession. This intern will be supporting the operations management team through their daily tasks and projects.
Anticipated Projects include:
- Collaborating with the Plant Management and Supervisors on continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing floor.
- Lead and participate in shop floor projects and daily meetings.
- Drive 5S activities and events in the shop.
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Daily Collaborative Meeting (DCM) efforts.
- Act on action items to support operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree majoring in Industrial Engineering
- Rising Junior or higher at start of internship
- Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, and/or Safety Compliance
- Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes.
- Previous exposure to CNC machining or machinery
- Geometrical Tolerance specification/application knowledge.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual base pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
