Political Canvasser
North Shore Strategies – Multiple Locations

Status: This is NOT an active posting. We are building a talent pool for upcoming programs. Candidates who apply now will be prioritized for first contact when a position opens in their area.

Pay: Typically $20–$25/hour, depending on program and experience

Classification: Temporary, Non-Exempt (when active)

Hours per Shift: 4–5, seasonal/short-term assignments

North Shore Strategies is building a nationwide network of motivated, professional canvassers to support grassroots field efforts for Democratic candidates and progressive causes. We're not hiring for a specific role right now, but we regularly staff up for campaigns across the country and want to connect with strong candidates before positions go live. If you're an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who's passionate about civic engagement, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role
As a Political Canvasser, you'll play a critical role in the democratic process through face-to-face voter engagement. Responsibilities typically include delivering campaign messages, collecting petition signatures, and building lasting support for candidates and issues in your community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing
  • Deliver persuasive, accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives
  • Record daily data and submit reports to program leadership
  • Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals
  • Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity
  • Attend trainings and team meetings to stay aligned on strategy and talking points
  • Build positive relationships with voters to strengthen community trust

Qualifications

  • (For petitioning tasks) Must be a registered voter in your state of residence
  • Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when a program is active
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangers
  • Reliable, goal-oriented, able to work independently and in a team
  • Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather
  • Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing a plus, not required
  • Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and performance targets
