The Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW), part of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, invites outstanding researchers to apply for Visiting Fellow appointments.
CHW supports research on the multiple aspects of health and wellbeing in both higher- and lower-income countries. Applications are welcomed from researchers in a variety of disciplines, including biology, economics, epidemiology, medicine, psychology, sociology, and related social science disciplines.
Visiting Fellows enjoy access to a wide range of scholarly activities throughout the University. Successful candidates will devote most of their time at Princeton to research, discussions, and scholarly collaborations concerned with the determinants of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and the effects of public policy on health and wellbeing. Some may also be invited to teach contingent upon sufficient enrollments and with the approval of the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. Fellows can come for the entire academic year, a single semester, or a portion of a semester.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctorate or equivalent degree. The program is open to all regardless of citizenship, but it does not support work toward the completion of a degree. Visiting Fellows must be employed at an institution other than Princeton during their visit and are expected to return to their primary appointment at the end of their visit.
There is no salary support provided for this position. Visiting Fellows must have salary support from their home institution throughout their visit. Prior to approval by the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, employment and salary verification will be required. Selected Fellows must provide documentation confirming they will receive at least the minimum required salary, which is currently $5,290 per month.
Applicants are evaluated on the basis of (1) the quality of their achievements in their field of specialization and their ability to benefit from the activities of CHW; (2) the significance of their proposed contribution to CHW's mission; and (3) the contribution they are likely to make to research in the future.
