Summary

Duties are primarily centered around the Pepper wire department but may include other warehouse functions as needed, including but not limited to, wire cuts, order-filling, receiving, stocking, loading and unloading trucks. Perform general warehouse duties as required to maintain the flow of product in and out of the distribution center. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Provide excellent customer services by performing functions accurately and timely.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cut wire for branch orders/deliveries. Create/receive deliveries for wire as needed and support branch requires for wire cuts as needed. Ensure proper inventory records are updated daily, maintained, and accurate.

  • Post daily updates to wire logs in Microsoft Excel. Ensure records stay current.
  • Other responsibilities may include tasks such as receiving, stocking, order-fulfillment, cycle counts, straightening shelves, sweeping floors.
  • Maintain safe operations and clean work environment by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards. Keep clear aisles and walkways.
  • Perform and record daily equipment inspections as required.
  • Load and/or unload trucks as needed, giving consideration to order of delivery, fragile material, etc. Utilize safe lifting procedures and appropriate equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude towards customers and co-workers by being friendly, cooperative and courteous.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.

Abilities and Physical Requirements:

  • Basic Excel skills needed to be able to track/update wire data in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to exude professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity when dealing with customers, employees, internal associates at all levels.
  • Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information.
  • Team player, able to work well under pressure.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, carry, or reach. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift from 10 to 25 lbs. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material, payment processing, etc. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks. The employee is required to be able to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and/or wire-cutting machine. Must be able to be exposed to heights of 15 to 20 feet in the air.
