About the role
Distinction seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Corporate Bookkeeper to join our Finance & Administration team. This role is essential to maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of our corporate operations. As the Bookkeeper, you will work closely with our Finance Director and senior leadership to ensure that all financial records are up to date, accurate, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.

What you'll do
- Record and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing, including calculating wages, verifying time records, and ensuring accurate deductions and withholdings
- Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Manage payroll records, including new hire entries, terminations, and benefit deductions
- Coordinate with HR on employee changes and ensure payroll systems are up to date
- Process invoices, receipts, reimbursements, and payments for vendors and contractors
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial and payroll reports
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and year-end closeouts, including W-2 and 1099 reporting
- Maintain and organize all financial documentation for audit readiness and internal reviews
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll compliance requirements
- Proficiency with accounting and payroll software (QuickBooks Online and Gusto preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in digital environments
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage confidential data
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
- Experience managing payroll for multi-state employees or multiple entities is a plus
