This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Virtual CFO Tax Supervisor based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead high-quality tax compliance and planning services within a fast-growing Virtual CFO environment.
You will oversee complex Federal, State, and Local tax engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to corporate and partnership clients.
The position combines technical tax expertise with client relationship management, project coordination, and team development.
You will partner closely with Virtual CFOs, Tax Managers, and senior tax leadership to identify planning opportunities and deliver timely solutions.
The role also provides hands-on exposure to tax research, governmental notices, projections, and strategic tax consulting.
As a supervisor, you will help guide both domestic and offshore team members while maintaining strong standards for accuracy and efficiency.

- Prepare and review accurate and timely Federal, State, and Local tax returns for corporate, partnership, shareholder, and individual clients.
- Support tax planning, projections, estimated tax calculations, and tax-saving strategies in collaboration with Tax Managers, Tax Directors, and Virtual CFOs.
- Research tax matters, analyze governmental notices, prepare appropriate responses, and coordinate resolution of client tax inquiries.
- Communicate tax preparation results, planning recommendations, deadlines, and other tax matters clearly and proactively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Review tax work prepared by support and offshore team members, provide constructive feedback, and ensure engagements meet quality, accuracy, and timeliness standards.
- Coordinate tax deliverables with Virtual CFOs, accountants, Tax Managers, and clients to ensure all deadlines and commitments are met.
- Participate in regular team meetings to identify tax planning opportunities, research requirements, upcoming deliverables, and potential engagement risks.
- Assist with technical reviews, analytical review preparation, 1099 preparation, fixed asset reviews, and tax planner activities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, dependable service, and thoughtful tax guidance.
- Mentor, coach, and support the development of tax professionals while contributing to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities while working independently and maintaining strong organizational discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Approximately 5–7 years of tax experience preparing and reviewing corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Licensed and active CPA designation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, Local, corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
- Public accounting experience is preferred, particularly experience supporting multiple client engagements.
- Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx Fixed Assets, BNA Income Tax Planner, or comparable platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to evaluate complex tax matters and identify appropriate solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver consistently high-quality client service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Virtual CFOs, tax leadership, accountants, and other team members.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide constructive guidance to developing tax professionals.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without requiring employer sponsorship.
- Salary range of $92,000–$100,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, education, internal equity, market factors, and other relevant considerations.
