The position offers the chance to influence payroll strategy, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing environment where accuracy, integrity, and employee experience are top priorities.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the end-to-end administration of multi-state payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely processing for hourly, salaried, bonus, and special payroll cycles.
  • Supervise and develop payroll team members, providing coaching, guidance, and professional development while fostering operational excellence.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax requirements, wage laws, internal controls, and SOX-related standards where applicable.
  • Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, tax filings, amendments, agency inquiries, and documentation required for internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Manage payroll processing related to long-term incentive and equity compensation programs, ensuring accurate taxation, reporting, and coordination with internal stakeholders and third-party administrators.
  • Analyze payroll data, generate HR and payroll reports, and translate business requirements into meaningful reporting solutions.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, Compensation, and IT teams to optimize payroll systems, improve data integrity, and support organizational initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate payroll processes, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, enhanced compliance, and a better employee experience.
  • Support HR teams with payroll guidance, system updates, mass employee changes, intercompany transfers, and payroll-related inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered an advantage.
  • At least 6 years of progressive payroll experience, including responsibility for complex multi-state payroll operations.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing payroll or HR professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, taxation, wage and hour laws, garnishments, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll and HRIS platforms, with ADP Vantage or other ADP solutions considered highly desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to drive payroll process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present information to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and commitment to handling confidential employee information.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary ranging from USD $111,000 to USD $160,950, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligibility for a 14% annual performance-based incentive bonus, subject to company and individual performance.
  • Remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Comprehensive healthcare and employee benefits package.
  • Retirement savings and financial wellness programs.
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and additional leave programs.
  • Professional development and leadership growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative, inclusive, and employee-focused workplace culture.
  • Opportunity to lead strategic payroll initiatives within a growing and dynamic organization.
