This executive leadership role will drive the global commercial strategy for precision medicine and companion diagnostics within a cutting-edge oncology environment.
The position will be responsible for integrating biomarker strategies, patient identification approaches, and diagnostic solutions into therapeutic development and commercialization plans.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in enabling successful product launches and expanding patient access through innovative precision oncology strategies.
Working across scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and market access teams, this leader will shape global readiness and long-term portfolio success.

The Executive Director will serve as a strategic and operational leader responsible for developing and executing global precision medicine and companion diagnostics strategies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure diagnostic solutions are integrated throughout development, launch, and lifecycle management.
- Lead the development and execution of global precision medicine strategies aligned with portfolio objectives, including biomarker positioning, patient identification, testing pathways, and diagnostic solutions.
- Partner with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Translational Medicine, Business Development, and regional commercial teams to build integrated companion diagnostic strategies.
- Ensure global readiness for companion diagnostic development, regulatory milestones, launch execution, commercialization, and lifecycle planning across key markets.
- Develop diagnostic roadmaps, launch strategies, market readiness assessments, testing forecasts, and investment recommendations to support portfolio decisions.
- Collaborate with Market Access teams to create evidence-generation and health technology assessment strategies that improve diagnostic and patient access.
- Drive market development initiatives focused on biomarker education, stakeholder engagement, and adoption of appropriate testing approaches.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with diagnostic companies, laboratory networks, technology providers, professional organizations, and other external stakeholders.
- Build scalable diagnostic capabilities and resources to support long-term organizational growth and commercial success.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators related to testing adoption, diagnostic access, launch readiness, and commercial performance.
- Provide executive-level guidance on opportunities to improve patient identification, strengthen market differentiation, and maximize portfolio value.
- Leverage digital tools, data analytics, and innovative commercial approaches to enhance biomarker testing and customer engagement.
- Travel requirements may be up to 50%.
The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial precision medicine leader with a strong background in oncology, diagnostics, and biotechnology commercialization. They should combine scientific understanding, strategic thinking, and proven leadership capabilities in complex global environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced scientific degree (MS, PhD, PharmD) and/or MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, including significant leadership experience in precision medicine, companion diagnostics, oncology commercialization, or related areas.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing global precision medicine strategies supporting product development, launch preparation, and lifecycle management.
- Experience working with companion diagnostic manufacturers, laboratory networks, diagnostic partners, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of companion diagnostic development, regulatory pathways, laboratory medicine, reimbursement environments, and global testing ecosystems.
- Proven ability to translate scientific, clinical, regulatory, and market insights into impactful commercial strategies.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders across global, matrixed organizations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build teams, establish new capabilities, and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in evolving environments and a passion for advancing cancer care.
- Preferred experience includes biomarker-defined solid tumors, targeted therapies, rapidly growing biotechnology organizations, global laboratory networks, and external diagnostic partnerships.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $252,000–$315,000 USD, depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
