POSITION: Communications Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Communications

REPORTS TO: Manager of Communications

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

WORK HOURS: Part-time B (20-25 hour schedule, Sundays-Thursdays, must be flexible to also work some evenings and weekends)

BAND: 5

Wage Range:$25 - $30/hour

JOB SUMMARY

Redeemer East Side seeks a creative, organized, and collaborative individual to support the church’s communications efforts across Sunday services, social media, email, and digital content. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Manager of Communications and various ministry teams to execute weekly communications needs and create engaging content that helps communicate the mission and ministry of Redeemer East Side.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and excited about using digital media and storytelling to serve the church community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Director of Worship to update, proof, and print the weekly Sunday bulletin
  • Own and update weekly worship slides in ProPresenter for Sunday services
  • Attend weekly worship planning meeting
  • Source Scripture readers for Sunday worship
  • Create social media content from sermons and teachings in the form of Reels, graphics, and other digital assets
  • Collaborate with Community Life and Children’s Ministry teams to ensure all email and event communication aligns with Redeemer East Side’s tone, brand, and mission
  • As needed, capture photo and video content at church events and gatherings using phone and/or camera equipment
  • Assist in maintaining and executing Redeemer East Side’s social media presence across platforms
  • Own and manage Redeemer en Español social media platforms including Instagram and YouTube
  • Collaborate with Youth Ministry staff and students to help oversee and support youth ministry social media content and engagement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong alignment with Redeemer East Side’s mission, vision, values, and tone
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Creative eye for social media, visual storytelling, and digital engagement
  • Familiarity with Instagram, YouTube, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools
  • Experience with ProPresenter, video editing, photography, or design tools is a plus
  • Prior communications, social media, nonprofit, ministry, or creative experience preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
