About This Position
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. This critical role ensures the smooth coordination of freight movement, timely deliveries, and efficient communication between stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and demonstrates strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and collaborate with warehouse staff to guarantee timely loading and unloading of goods.
- Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of transportation employees. Coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and vendors to provide shipment updates and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities, including freight handling documentation.
- Monitor transportation costs and optimize routes.
- Provide exceptional phone etiquette when addressing inquiries related to logistics operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations, on-time deliveries, and implement of transportation policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
- Assist warehouse staff with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Move trailers in the yard or handle last-minute deliveries, utilizing a valid commercial driver's license (CDL A).
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including freight handling procedures, and tariff classifications.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly.
- Excellent organizational, logistical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Supervisory experience with strong leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Oversee's staff to ensure they are following safety protocols and works with Shipping Manager to conduct safety audits.
- CDL A preferred .
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation management in a warehouse setting.
- Forklift experience preferred
