About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

Tahoma Global Logistics (TGL) is seeking qualified candidates for our Account Manager position at our port facility located in Tacoma. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for one of the facility's largest transload/warehouse accounts, while also supporting key yard operations. This role combines customer account ownership with operational coordination, to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant flow of equipment and freight throughout the yard. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned account(s), including customer communication, issue resolution, documentation, scheduling, and billing. In addition, the Account Manager partners with yard leadership to support daily operations, inventory control, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent attendance
  • Act as the primary liaison for the assigned account(s), managing all customer communication, service requests, collaborating with team members for resolution
  • Process and maintain all required documentation, including purchase orders, work orders, bills of lading, and inbound/outbound transaction records
  • Oversee inventory tracking and ensure accuracy within yard management systems
  • Perform quality control inspections to verity equipment condition, repair completion, and dispatch readiness
  • Manage detailed inventory processes including locating, tagging, auditing, and reconciliation
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
  • Monitor equipment utilization rates and identify underperforming or aging assets
  • Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound appointment scheduling to optimize yard flow and productivity
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
  • Prepare and manage month end invoicing including reconciliation and resolution of account discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including shared drive documentation and reporting files
  • Create work orders for value added services
  • Support yard operations by coordinating logistics, tracking equipment movement, and ensuring efficient throughput
  • Assist in maintaining site security protocols, including visitor processing and access control
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOP's, and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for spare parts, fuel, and operational supplies
  • Ensure chain of custody documentation is properly completed for all asset transfers
  • Partner with management to support production schedules, documentation control, and inventory accuracy
  • Provide cross functional support to yard personnel to ensure safe handling and movement of equipment
  • Contribute wherever possible, for improvements regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost through continuous improvement methods; identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
  • Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; help maintain TGL equipment and assets.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
  • Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

  • Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, valid insurance and reliable transportation
  • 3+ years experience in logistics, operations, and/or yard management leadership
  • Experience with inventory management and customer compliance audits
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with clarity and legibility in all written work
  • Positive, respectful and professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in assigned tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and make real-time decisions to support operational goals
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment types, maintenance requirements, and logistics operations
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, federal OSHA standards, and best practices in yard management
  • PC and MS Office proficient; able to use mobile apps for data entry and inspection documentation
  • Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment, exposed to various weather conditions
  • Ability to transport self over multi acre work site of varied terrain and climb in/out of equipment
  • Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred

  • 5+ years experience in logistics, operations, and/or yard management leadership
  • 1+ years experience in inventory management and customer compliance audits
  • Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse processes

PTE formed Tahoma Global Logistics in December 2022 to leverage Tribal properties in the heart of the Port of Tacoma, WA for logistics operations. Located within the Heavy Cargo corridor of the Tacoma port, we are ready to support any and all of your outdoor storage requirements. We provide drayage services, regional trucking, and transloading of project cargoes from trailer to flat rack, including blocking, bracing, and export packing.
