Maintenance Tech 1 at Loffredo Fresh Foods – Norwalk, Iowa

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain Production and Facilities Equipment such as Food processing and packaging technology, as well as support equipment such as HVAC, wastewater, and grounds.
2. Follow and help develop the Preventive Maintenance Program
3. Experience with Electrical and Electronic Control Systems preferred
4. Assist the maintenance team in resolving machine problems.
5. Willing to learn
6. Perform assigned duties in all types of weather.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/ GED and a as a machine technician plus (food plant experience preferred but not required).
• Strong mechanical/ electrical skills and troubleshooting experience along with the
  ability to use machine shop tools safely and effectively.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability and desire to work well alone and within a team environment.
• Must be able to train individuals and listen to department concerns.
• Must have experience with lock-out/tag-out safety procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical demands and Work Environment

Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Fixed mechanical problems such us strip down machines.

This position is located at a production facility with a mechanical environment with moderate noise level.

Cold environment Area may be damp/wet Moderate noise level.

Large volume production facility includes: Manual, semi-automatic and automatic equipment Conveyor system Packaging/filling

PPE as required.
