Grounds Technician in PELLA, Iowa at Central College

Responsible to the Grounds Manager for performing a variety of grounds and general maintenance tasks.

· Responsible for mowing, trimming, weeding, seeding, landscaping, planting, watering, and snow removal.

· Assist with fertilizer and pesticide application (if licensed and certified).

· Operate grounds equipment i.e., tractors, mowers, spreaders, push mowers, snow blowers according to safety requirements and guidelines.

· Assist with basic maintenance of grounds equipment and other general maintenance tasks..

· Complete deliveries, office and furniture moves and resident housing bed bunking based on needs and project assignments

· Support event set-up/tear down on campus/athletic grounds and in campus facilities.

· Maintain clean shops and mechanical rooms.

· Assist facilities staff with projects and tasks as needed

· High School Diploma/GED and must be able to do simple math functions.

· 1 year of effective experience and valid driver’s license required.

· Ability to use/climb a ladder safely and lift, push & pull up to 100 pounds.

· Must be able to work flexible hours for snow removal duties or other special events as needed
