Maintenance Technician at Ring & Pinion Service Inc – Algona, Iowa

Summary:

The primary function of this position is to repair all parts that can be repaired and to perform machine and building maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Capable of correctly reading measurements on lathes, mills as well as using caliper, dial indicators, and tape measures
• Change lighting fixtures in the plant, as needed
• Perform preventative maintenance for machines
• Ensure all hoists and beams are properly installed and inspected periodically
• Operate a welder, cutting torch, mill or lathe
• Identify needed repairs on components that fail inspection
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other tasks as required

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Mechanical knowledge as well as being familiar with various tools is not required but helpful
• Ability to learn how to operate a welder, cutting torch, mill, and lathe
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge and Personal Attributes:

• Machining skills helpful but willing to train
• Able to work independently
• Works well with others
