The Role
Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Department: Business Development
Location: Canada (Edmonton area preferred)
Reporting To: Sales Manager
- Maintain and update all sales opportunities, stages, close dates, and activities in CRM.Maintain prescribed sales processes and behaviours that lead to results as per plan.Utilize commercial solutions for qualified customers, leading to closing.Develop a sales funnel of short, mid and long-term prospects that align with BBE’s ideal client (complex/sensitive/underserved). Gain access to customers through client referrals or by association. Provide Operations with clear and concise information related to client needs when quotes are required. Contribute to and participate in negotiations with customers and internal teams, including contract development, contract renewal and implementation, and rate or service fee development and implementation. Contribute to and share market intelligence: competitors, regulators, prospects, existing customers, vendors (suppliers/carriers), partners. Nurture and strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders. Carry out assigned responsibilities with accuracy, accountability, and urgency. Anticipate issues and contribute practical solutions before problems escalate. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support smooth operations. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders. Support continuous improvement in how work is done.
