QA Supervisor at Zaro's Bake Shop Inc – Elmsford, New York

Role Overview:

Collaborate with the Food Safety and Production leadership teams to maintain Zaro’s standards. Main responsibilities cover food safety and sanitation, quality assurance, training, productivity, and promoting teamwork.

Essential Food Safety & Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of Zaro’s food safety program and SQF code.
• Lead quality assurance efforts by partnering with production supervisors, crew leaders, line workers, and sanitation staff to achieve all food safety objectives.
• Oversee GMP compliance throughout bakery departments; implement corrective actions when standards are not met.
• Personally complete or thoroughly audit all production lines to verify adherence to Zaro’s Food Safety Guidelines outlined in the SQF program. Tasks may include:
• Pre-operation inspections.
• Allergen management: swabbing, storage, control.
• Proper maintenance of lot code records.
• Chemical control verification.
• Weight and sensory assessments.
• Bake and cooling temperature monitoring.
• Finished product label checks.
• Monitoring temperatures in all refrigerated and frozen storage areas.
• Monitor and confirm Critical Control Points across the production shift.
• Comply with all required frequencies for critical control checks as defined by SOPs.
• Report any nonconformities related to finished products, recipes, or raw materials to management.
• Ensure department documentation is accurate and provided to the QA manager.
• Help verify lot codes on received raw materials and shipped finished goods.
• Participate in staff training sessions.
• Be an active member of the HACCP team.
• Assist during recalls.

Essential Production Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in achieving daily production targets.
• Follow guidance from Production Managers and Supervisors.
• Set work pace, handle multiple tasks, and operate with a strong sense of urgency.
• Protect company property including facilities, equipment, raw materials, and ensure the safety of others.

Physical Requirements:

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform essential duties safely and efficiently, meeting all productivity standards.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work in both hot and cold environments.
• Stand for long periods.
• May need to squat, reach, bend, pull, push, or move physically in other ways during the shift.
