PeopleTools Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PeopleTools Specialist based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support and optimize enterprise PeopleSoft environments through advanced technical administration and platform expertise.
You will play a key role in maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure systems while supporting critical business operations.
The position combines infrastructure management, automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a fully remote environment.
You will collaborate with technical teams to deliver upgrades, enhancements, and operational support for complex enterprise applications.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced PeopleSoft professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and improving system performance.
You will contribute to long-term platform stability while helping teams adopt modern tools, processes, and cloud-based technologies.

Accountabilities:

As a PeopleTools Specialist, you will be responsible for the architecture, administration, configuration, and ongoing support of enterprise PeopleSoft environments. You will ensure system reliability, execute technical improvements, and provide expertise across PeopleTools technologies while supporting production operations.

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support PeopleSoft environments across development, testing, and production landscapes.
  • Perform PeopleTools upgrades, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image applications, patching, and technical enhancements.
  • Administer WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, and application server environments.
  • Manage Elasticsearch/OpenSearch environments supporting PeopleSoft applications.
  • Execute system refreshes, environment clones, migrations, and high availability/disaster recovery activities.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using scripting tools such as Shell, Python, and Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system support materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Support production environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced PeopleSoft technical professional with strong knowledge of enterprise application administration, infrastructure technologies, and automation practices. You should be comfortable managing complex environments, troubleshooting issues, and communicating effectively with technical stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft PeopleTools administration experience.
  • Experience performing PeopleTools upgrades, PUM image updates, and system maintenance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of WebLogic, Tuxedo, Oracle Database, and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience managing Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and PeopleSoft Cloud Manager.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using tools such as Shell, Python, or Ansible.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business teams.
  • Experience supporting enterprise production environments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PeopleSoft certifications.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and PeopleSoft Selective Adoption.
  • Experience implementing modern infrastructure automation and deployment practices.
