The Project Cost Controller II will support project teams by providing financial oversight, cost analysis, and reporting expertise to ensure successful project delivery. The role involves monitoring budgets, assessing financial impacts, and helping stakeholders make informed decisions through accurate data and forecasts.
- Collaborate with project management teams to analyze project financial health and provide insights on cost performance.
- Review project changes, assess financial impacts, and update project plans and forecasts accordingly.
- Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance metrics to support accurate estimates to complete.
- Prepare and maintain project cost reports, accruals, and financial documentation.
- Support procurement activities and ensure project financial records remain accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project control processes, tools, and reporting practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks, opportunities, and cost optimization strategies.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in project controls, cost management, and financial analysis. They should have strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and the confidence to support complex project environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, science, engineering, IT, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Three to eight years of relevant professional experience in finance, project controls, or cost management.
- Experience supporting project cost control activities and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
- Experience working with project management teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cost estimation methodologies and project financial processes.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of project controls tools such as Prism G2 is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as Professional Accountant, Project Management Professional (PMP), CMA, SCMP, or AACE certification are considered assets.
