Surgical Tech III at Boone County Health Center – Albion, Nebraska

Position Overview:

The Surgical Technologist assists surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. Responsible for preparing the operating room, organizing surgical equipment and instruments and ensuring a sterile environment to promote patient safety and surgical success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares patient and equipment and aids health care provider during treatment and examination of patient.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and orderliness of work area to provide smooth workflow in the department.
• Assists with sterile processing duties.
• Communicates effectively
• Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• If non-certified, on the job training will be provided (Surgical Tech I)
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (Surgical Tech II or III Lead)
• Currently licensed as an LPN by the State of Nebraska (Surgical Tech II or III Lead)
• Must be able to take call and respond within 30 minutes
• Knowledge of operating room procedures
• Knowledge of equipment, instruments and supplies used in the operating room
• Knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or upon hire
• Surgical tech experience preferred
