Job Summary:
Boone County Health Center is seeking a dedicated and friendly Dietary Aide to assist in the preparation and service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and delivering excellent customer service. Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
• Experience in food preparation and sanitation preferred.
• Must possess high standards for food quality and service.
• Must be courteous and customer-focused, providing excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Meal Preparation and Service:

   • Assists in preparing and serving meals to patients, visitors, and staff based on dietary menus and prescriptions.
   • Ensures that meals are served efficiently and in a timely manner.
   • Assists in preparing requested snacks for patients and staff.
   • Accurately follows menu modifications and ensures meal delivery is according to patient dietary needs.

2. Food Safety and Sanitation:

   • Maintains high standards for food preparation, handling, and sanitation.
   • Follows all food safety guidelines and ensures proper food handling throughout the process.
   • Assists with the collection, sorting, and washing of dishes.
   • Takes and records required food temperatures to ensure proper food safety.

3. Cleaning and Maintaining a Sanitary Work Area:

   • Completes assigned cleaning duties, including maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas in a sanitary condition.
   • Exhibits good sanitation practices by following approved cleaning routines and procedures.
   • Assists with the proper disposal of refuse and ensures the kitchen area remains tidy and safe.

4. Customer Service:

   • Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by assisting with meal requests and ensuring a positive dining experience.
   • Helps patients and staff with special meal needs or questions regarding food service.
   • Assists with point of sale transactions for employees and visitors in the cafeteria or dining areas.
