Pharmacy Technician II at Boone County Health Center – Albion, Nebraska

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy department by accurately receiving, sorting, compounding, and processing medication orders under the supervision of a Pharmacist. This role will assist with maintaining drug inventory, ensuring medication billing accuracy, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medication Order Processing: Prepare, select, and document medication orders for Pharmacist approval, ensuring correct dosage, form, strength, and quantity. Prepare unit-dose medications and intravenous (IV) packs, label medications, and process medication records.
• Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate medication stock levels, place orders for supplies and medications, monitor inventory, and restock pharmacy and patient care areas. Track medication expiration dates and ensure the formulary is up-to-date.
• Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service by addressing questions from patients and healthcare professionals, triaging inquiries, and collaborating with the Pharmacist for medication-related concerns.
• Administrative Support: Handle incoming phone calls and visitors, schedule appointments, clean pharmacy equipment, and file department records.
• Billing Audits: Conduct audits of Medication Administration Records (MAR) to ensure billing accuracy and follow up on any discrepancies with the Pharmacy Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior pharmacy or hospital experience is preferred.
• Must be registered and certified.
