THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION (MONDAY - FRIDAY 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM) - Training will occur on Day Shift for first 60-days


POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Technical Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Petmate. As a Technical Supervisor, you will lead and manage all technical operations within the Blow Molding and Stretch Molding areas. Your primary responsibilities will include minimizing unscheduled downtime, reducing scrap, overseeing mold and color changes, and optimizing resin and color usage. You will spearhead continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees under your supervision is paramount. Your role will be pivotal in driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of safety and innovation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Plant Supervisors and Managers to address daily challenges, set priorities, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Conduct daily meetings with outgoing and incoming supervisors to establish priorities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collect, analyze, and report daily production data to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage indirect labor, scrap, and downtime to minimize manufacturing variances and optimize productivity.
  • Provide daily visibility on downtime, scrap, changes, and resin deviations to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Participate in daily labor meetings to identify inefficiencies and discuss quality-related topics.
  • Coordinate with planning to schedule major tool and machine repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to optimize processes related to molds, changeovers, and machine improvements.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises technical employees in the Technical Departments on the assigned shift. 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Fill in for Production Supervisor as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Our facility operates with machinery that can be loud and requires ear protection and eye protection. The manufacturing environment can be fast-paced and physically demanding, with exposure to various materials and processes that may result in a dirty workspace. We prioritize safety and cleanliness, providing all necessary protective gear and maintaining strict hygiene standards.
