Pay Range
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day‑to‑day activities of an hourly, unionized production team assigned to a single product line. This role ensures that manufacturing operations run in accordance with established production specifications and schedules while meeting volume, cost, waste, and quality targets. The supervisor is accountable for employee safety, training, and effective coordination with other departments to support production objectives.
This position operates on a DuPont Schedule, 28‑day rotating shift pattern designed to provide 24/7 operational coverage using 12‑hour shifts. The schedule includes a rotating mix of day and night shifts and offers consistent time off. The rotation follows this general pattern:
- 4 consecutive night shifts
- 3 days off
- 3 consecutive day shifts
- 1 day off
- 3 nights off
- 3 consecutive night shifts
- 3 days off
- 4 consecutive day shifts
- 7 days off
Your Day‑to‑Day
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees on the assigned shift, including enforcement of safety rules and safe work practices
- Supervise, train, coach, and provide direction to an hourly production team
- Plan and schedule the utilization of equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Investigate root causes related to scrap, process excursions, quality complaints, and fire or safety incidents
- Ensure production teams understand and comply with established operating systems related to safety, environmental standards, quality, and process controls, as well as overall company policies
- Utilize key operating indicators to control product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditures, and other shift‑related functions
- Accurately review and submit hours worked to payroll for all production employees in a timely manner
- Communicate production performance, concerns, and improvement opportunities to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and the Superintendent
- Prepare and maintain labor, material, and equipment usage reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Team
- High School diploma required; minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes
- Strong aptitude for learning and applying company policies and procedures
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety requirements
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑based environment
- Experience managing 30+ hourly employees, including setting direction, deploying resources, conducting performance evaluations, supporting pay reviews, and participating in hiring and termination processes
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility and may involve exposure to cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust, mist, gases, fumes, and extensive walking or climbing
- Minimal travel required (0–10 days per year)
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
