Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Technician to serve as a key operator within our security infrastructure. This role focuses on the deployment, configuration, and optimization of both the Tanium platform to ensure enterprise-wide visibility and endpoint security compliance. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in automated patching, vulnerability management, and federal security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability Management & ACAS Operations:
    • Tanium Vulnerability Remediation: Execute targeted enterprise-wide remediation efforts, such as fixing multiple vulnerabilities in third-party applications across the endpoint landscape.
    • Automated Software Compliance: Enforce security policies by managing utility installations to ensure secure, credentialed access.
    • STIG & Configuration Management: Ensure strict adherence to federal security standards by implementing Tanium STIGs.
  • Tanium Platform Operations:
    • Maintain and operate the Tanium virtual appliance to ensure platform health and security.
    • Execute targeted remediation efforts, such as fixing multiple vulnerabilities in Python across the endpoint landscape.
    • Manage software compliance by overseeing utility installations (e.g., removing standard Putty while maintaining Putty CAC).
    • Review and manage the software catalog, including evaluating potential additions to the Tanium Self-Service Client.
    • Manage and install new Tanium license files and configure Tanium Client exports to DFS for streamlined data management.
  • Compliance & Automated Patching:
    • Support the patching and configuration of Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as various third-party applications.
    • Ensure strict adherence to federal security standards by completing all Tanium STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides).
    • Create and manage new reports, specifically for AD Email Management, to provide leadership with actionable security intelligence.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cybersecurity, specifically performing the patching and configuration of Windows and Linux operating systems and third-party applications.
  • Platform Expertise:
    • Demonstrated experience operating Tanium in an enterprise environment (specifically utilizing the virtual appliance).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with DOD cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CMMC, C2C).
    • Strong understanding of scripting (Python, PowerShell) for vulnerability remediation.
  • Certification Required: Minimum Security+ CE. Higher relevant certifications will be given preferred status.
  • Minimum Security Clearance Required: Secret
