What You'll Do
As a Medical Receptionist, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients while providing administrative support that helps ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience.
  • Welcome patients and complete check-in, check-out, and registration processes.
  • Collect co-pays, deposits, and required patient information.
  • Prepare patient paperwork, insurance forms, and privacy documentation.
  • Create, maintain, and organize patient charts and medical records.
  • Utilize EMR systems to support daily clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally.
  • Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Offer earlier appointment opportunities when cancellations occur.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and document exceptions as needed.
  • Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and test results while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepare examination rooms and provide compassionate support to patients and families.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and facility policies.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality requirements.
