Job Description

Corporate Controller

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Controller based in the United States.

This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for financial control, reporting, and accounting across a complex multi-entity organization.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate, timely, audit-ready financial information.
The role requires deep expertise in consolidation, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions.
You will also oversee the finance systems environment and identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
As a key finance leader, you will manage the external audit cycle, strengthen internal controls, and provide technical accounting guidance across the organization.
You will lead and develop an accounting team while partnering with stakeholders across the business on financial decisions and priorities.
This opportunity is well suited to a highly rigorous, analytical finance professional who thrives in a fast-growing, distributed, and deadline-driven environment.

Accountabilities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close calendar across all entities, establish timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and remain accountable for meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Lead multi-entity group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, cross-entity reconciliations, and foreign-currency translation.
  • Own the preparation and integrity of financial statements across entities, including the general ledger, chart of accounts, and underlying accounting policies.
  • Maintain rigorous balance-sheet and bank reconciliation processes, ensuring aged or unexplained items are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly.
  • Oversee accounting processes and data quality to ensure the underlying information supporting financial reporting is accurate, complete, and reliable.
  • Own the finance systems environment, including system configuration, controls, process improvements, and opportunities to apply AI tools to recurring finance workflows.
  • Lead the external audit process from planning and preparation through fieldwork, PBC management, stakeholder coordination, and resolution of audit queries.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and strengthen internal financial controls while serving as a technical accounting escalation point for the broader finance function.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory and tax filing requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team by establishing clear expectations, promoting accountability, and building a culture focused on ownership and quality.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to teams across the organization, providing financial insight and guidance for business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, systems, reporting, and overall operational efficiency in a rapidly growing environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial management, including substantial experience with multi-entity group consolidations.
  • Deep practical knowledge of both US GAAP and UK GAAP/FRS 102.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of financial close processes and external audit cycles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions, with US and UK experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including complex financial modeling, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve the accuracy, efficiency, or automation of finance workflows.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, or developing finance and accounting professionals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to resolving unreconciled balances, discrepancies, and unexplained variances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to investigate issues and determine appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Ability to manage a deadline-heavy, calendar-driven workload independently and consistently deliver accurate results.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is a plus but is not required.
  • Direct experience with Iplicit is desirable.
  • Experience working within a high-growth organization is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working within a distributed, remote-first environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.
Benefits
  • Annual leave: 35 vacation days per year, in addition to public holidays.
  • Birthday: Dedicated paid day off for your birthday.
  • Wellness: 12 scheduled company wellness Fridays off each year, in addition to vacation entitlement.
  • Healthcare: Medical, vision, and dental insurance, with 70% of monthly premiums covered.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with company matching—100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%.
  • Family support: Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits.
  • Flexible spending: Flexible Spending Account.
  • Work flexibility: Flexible working hours within a remote US/UK team.
  • Remote-work support: Work-from-home allowance to help equip your home workspace.
  • Work environment: Collaborative, inclusive, high-growth culture designed to support work-life balance and professional impact.
  • Location: Remote, with the position based in the United States.
