Health Educator - CareLink at University Health System- San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Health Educator works with the Manager of Community Outreach on health promotion and disease prevention activities and interventions for individuals and the community. Health Educator is responsible for conveying basic health information on many topics, including healthy eating, physical activity, injury prevention, medication adherence, advanced medical directives, and others as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required. Two years in inpatient, ambulatory or community setting is preferred. Experience in public speaking and/or educational presentations demonstrating effective communication skills is required. English/Spanish fluency is highly desired. Additional credentials (CDE, CHES) are beneficial. Must have or be able/willing to obtain CPR certification. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License, auto liability insurance, and a reliable automobile.
