Director, Deposit Operations & Treasury Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Treasury & Deposit Operations based in United States.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee critical banking operations and help shape the future of a growing financial institution.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for deposit operations and treasury management, driving operational excellence, compliance, and scalable processes.
The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, managing teams, improving workflows, and supporting business growth.
You will collaborate with senior leaders, technology teams, auditors, and external partners to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Accountabilities:

As the Director of Treasury & Deposit Operations, you will lead the operational functions supporting deposit services and treasury management activities. You will oversee teams, optimize processes, maintain strong controls, and ensure operations are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.

  • Lead daily operations across deposit functions, including account onboarding and maintenance, wire transfers, debit card operations, ACH processing, check processing, returns, and digital banking support.
  • Manage treasury management operations and ensure effective delivery of commercial banking services.
  • Develop and implement operational improvements, resolve process challenges, and establish efficient workflows to support organizational growth.
  • Lead team development by managing staffing needs, performance, training, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance operational policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks to ensure compliance and risk management.
  • Coordinate preparation for internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and examinations.
  • Oversee operational initiatives related to system conversions, product implementations, process improvements, and technology enhancements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new products, services, industry trends, and opportunities for operational advancement.
  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and resource allocation while ensuring operational effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership, business teams, vendors, and technology partners.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced banking operations leader with strong knowledge of deposit services, treasury management, compliance, and financial operations. You should have a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex initiatives, and drive improvements in a highly regulated environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent banking experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of banking experience with significant exposure to deposit operations and treasury management.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership or management experience overseeing teams.
  • Strong understanding of deposit operations, treasury management, digital banking, banking compliance requirements, and financial products.
  • Experience leading diverse teams ranging from entry-level employees to managers.
  • Ability to develop and execute operational strategies while balancing business priorities and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong analytical, accounting, and financial skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, employees, customers, auditors, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Jack Henry SilverLake or related banking technology platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with banking applications such as workflow tools, reporting platforms, digital banking solutions, treasury management systems, or similar technologies is a plus.
