In this role, you will lead and scale a high-performing fund accounting and administration function within a fast-growing private markets environment. You will oversee end-to-end fund administration delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across complex client portfolios while driving operational excellence. Acting as both a strategic leader and subject matter expert, you will build and mentor teams, enhance service delivery models, and strengthen client relationships across institutional fund managers. This position sits at the intersection of accounting, operations, and technology, where you will help shape scalable processes and support automation-driven improvements. You will also play a key role in ensuring customer success, resolving complex accounting challenges, and partnering cross-functionally to evolve service offerings. - Lead and manage fund administration and fund accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of services across client portfolios.
- Build, hire, onboard, and develop high-performing teams, including both early-career fund accountants and experienced managers.
- Oversee workforce planning, capacity management, and staffing strategy in alignment with business growth needs.
- Conduct performance management activities, including coaching, feedback, and formal evaluations to support team development.
- Ensure strong client service delivery, including oversight of reporting, deliverables, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Act as an escalation point for complex accounting issues, client concerns, and operational challenges.
- Oversee the year-end audit process and maintain strong internal controls across all fund accounting activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and support automation and technology initiatives.
- Identify and implement opportunities to scale operations, improve workflows, and strengthen service quality.
- Collaborate on the development of new service offerings and support contract and scope discussions with internal stakeholders.
- 12+ years of experience in fund accounting, ideally across private equity, venture capital, real estate, or hedge funds.
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing fund accounting or finance teams, including entry-level talent.
- Prior experience working within a fund administration or similar financial services environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles, financial reporting, and operational controls.
- Proven ability to build scalable processes in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills with a focus on talent growth.
- Strong client relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- High level of comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments with an entrepreneurial mindset.
