This senior leadership role is responsible for owning global revenue recognition and ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and GAAP standards across a complex, multi-element business environment.
The position plays a critical role in guiding revenue accounting strategy, supporting financial reporting integrity, and ensuring transparency across all revenue streams.
It partners closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, and executive leadership to evaluate and structure complex commercial agreements.
The role also leads the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all reporting cycles.
In addition to technical accounting leadership, the position drives internal controls, audit readiness, and SOX compliance across the revenue function.
This is a highly visible role interacting with senior leadership, including the CFO and external auditors, in a fast-paced, global organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Own end-to-end revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, GAAP, and relevant regulatory standards
  • Evaluate complex customer contracts, identifying performance obligations, variable consideration, and proper revenue treatment
  • Author and maintain technical accounting memos and position papers supporting revenue recognition decisions
  • Lead monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
  • Oversee revenue reporting and disclosures for external filings, including deferred revenue, RPO, and contract balances
  • Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, and Legal teams to provide guidance on contract structuring and revenue implications
  • Maintain and enhance revenue systems and tools (e.g., RevPro) to ensure data accuracy and compliance
  • Lead SOX controls design, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement for revenue processes
  • Manage external audit interactions and ensure defensible accounting positions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue accounting team while driving process scalability and efficiency
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent) and industry experience in publicly traded companies
  • Deep expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multi-element arrangements, SaaS/subscription models, and licensing structures
  • Strong understanding of ASC 605 and IFRS 15 considered an asset
  • Proven experience managing revenue close cycles and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience designing and operating SOX internal controls in a public company environment
  • Strong technical writing skills with ability to produce clear accounting memos and audit-ready documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing accounting teams
  • Experience with revenue systems such as RevPro or similar platforms is an advantage
  • Exposure to SaaS, software, or media/technology environments is highly desirable
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: CAD 146,600 – 219,900 (Canada)
  • Remote work flexibility (#LI-Remote)
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Retirement savings plans and financial security programs
  • Paid time off and flexible work arrangements
  • Career development opportunities in a global, fast-growing environment
  • Exposure to complex, high-impact revenue accounting challenges
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture
