As part of the FMDC Accounting Unit, you will have the opportunity to build for a stronger tomorrow by applying your diverse background, education, and work experiences to a variety of facility and maintenance projects in compliance with Missouri state regulations and statutes. This position is with the Office of Administration, Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC), supporting the FMDC Leasing Accounting team within the Budget and Accounting Unit. OA-FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent customer service.

  • Enter leasing fiscal data into encumbrance and payment documents in SAM II with precision.
  • Process journal voucher documents to correct payment entries.
  • Manage filing and retention processes to keep the unit running efficiently.
  • Partner with team members and staff to troubleshoot and resolve leasing‑related issues.
  • Deliver standout customer service to vendors and internal staff, becoming a trusted resource.
  • Help shape the future of the accounting unit by assisting with the development of new systems and procedures.
  • Take on other meaningful responsibilities that support the broader mission.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead with integrity in a manner that prioritizes excellent customer service, inspires trust, and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and planning capabilities in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster positive, productive working relationships with and provide excellent customer service to internal teams, partner agencies, and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices (including applicable statutes, state regulations, and statewide and OA policies relating to accounting) with the ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions.
  • Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAM II Financial, Data Warehouse, and Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute work independently with minimal supervision with a high level of discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced working knowledge of SAM II Financial and Data Warehouse (Access).
  • Ability to prioritize and execute statistical and financial data work independently with minimal supervision and acute attention to detail.

This position is in an office environment and job duties may include prolonged periods of seated work at a desk, typing, written and verbal communication, problem solving, and the occasional ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
