The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, and ecosystem players across multiple banking solutions.
You will own the complete business development lifecycle, from prospect identification and relationship building to negotiation and closing.

The role requires deep industry expertise, strong executive relationships, and the ability to translate market opportunities into measurable business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

The Vice President of Sales & Business Development will be responsible for building a strong commercial foundation by identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across the financial services ecosystem.

  • Own prospect identification, market segmentation, account prioritization, and outreach strategies based on business potential, market fit, and conversion opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior decision-makers across banks, sponsor banks, fintech companies, regulated financial institutions, processors, networks, and industry partners.
  • Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline with clear opportunity criteria, including identified buyers, business use cases, contract potential, and defined next steps.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial discovery and qualification through solution positioning, business case development, pricing discussions, procurement support, negotiations, and contract closure.
  • Partner with technical and commercial teams to deliver impactful customer engagements, including demos, proof-of-concepts, workshops, and solution discussions.
  • Support successful transitions from signed agreements to implementation and account growth by ensuring strong alignment between sales and delivery teams.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and ecosystem forums to generate opportunities and strengthen market visibility.
  • Maintain disciplined sales operations through CRM management, forecasting, opportunity tracking, stakeholder mapping, and regular pipeline reviews.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights, competitive analysis, and feedback to support product strategy and commercial positioning.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes, including qualified pipeline creation, executive-level engagement, and significant enterprise customer wins.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned business development executive with extensive experience selling technology solutions within financial services. They should combine strategic vision with hands-on execution capabilities and have a proven ability to build new revenue streams.

  • 15+ years of professional experience, including at least 5+ years as a sales leader or business development executive.
  • Proven track record of building a multi-million-dollar book of business from the ground up within the U.S. financial services sector.
  • Significant experience selling technology solutions to banks, regulated financial institutions, fintech companies, or related organizations.
  • Strong understanding of banking technology, fintech ecosystems, payment solutions, lending, cards, deposits, or related financial products.
  • Established network and strong relationships with decision-makers at U.S. sponsor banks, fintech companies, and financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise sales cycles and closing high-value contracts.
  • Ability to open executive-level conversations and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial discipline with experience managing pipelines, forecasts, and strategic account plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, build-from-scratch environment.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to lead business growth initiatives within a rapidly evolving banking technology environment.
  • High-impact leadership role with ownership of market expansion and revenue generation.
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships with leading financial institutions and fintech innovators.
  • Opportunity to influence product direction through direct market and customer insights.
  • Collaborative environment with cross-functional teams across technology, product, and commercial functions.
