The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for growing revenue, strengthening market presence, and leading a high-performing sales organization across an assigned territory. This role requires a combination of strategic planning, customer engagement, technical support, and team leadership to achieve sustainable business growth.
- Drive year-over-year revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets across assigned regions and product portfolios.
- Build, coach, and manage a network of direct sales professionals and independent manufacturer representatives, establishing clear goals and accountability.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to increase product specifications, market share, and customer adoption.
- Provide technical guidance to sales teams and customers by recommending appropriate product solutions based on project requirements.
- Support architects, contractors, distributors, and engineers throughout the specification, bidding, and installation process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions to customers, industry groups, and trade organizations.
- Monitor competitive activity, market trends, pricing dynamics, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Track sales performance, pipeline activity, and market insights through CRM tools and reporting processes.
- Lead complex negotiations and strategic opportunities to secure profitable business outcomes.
- Collaborate with customer service, technical teams, and internal leadership to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and support the professional development of sales team members.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, job sites, trade shows, and industry events with approximately 30% travel expected.
The ideal candidate is an experienced sales leader with a strong background in business development, team management, and technical solution selling within construction, architectural products, or related industries.
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven success building and leading sales teams that consistently achieve ambitious revenue goals.
- Experience selling architectural building products, construction solutions, specialty products, or similar technical offerings is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of complex sales cycles involving architects, contractors, distributors, engineers, and multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to provide technical product guidance and translate customer needs into effective solutions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic mindset with an entrepreneurial approach and strong customer focus.
- Ability to manage complex sales opportunities and influence decision-makers at different organizational levels.
- Experience using CRM and sales management platforms, including Salesforce or similar systems.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required for customer and job site visits.
- Ability to comply with job site safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment when visiting construction locations.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
