This position offers the opportunity to shape security strategy at scale while leading a talented team in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
- Define and execute a comprehensive security strategy covering corporate security, platform security, product security, governance, risk and compliance, and security operations.
- Develop and manage the security roadmap, ensuring key initiatives are delivered effectively and aligned with business objectives.
- Lead security programs focused on identity and access management, endpoint protection, enterprise controls, compliance readiness, and operational resilience.
- Partner closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and IT teams to embed security best practices across development lifecycles and operational environments.
- Establish and mature governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, including security policies, monitoring procedures, privacy initiatives, and audit readiness.
- Build, enhance, and oversee incident response capabilities, security operations processes, and business continuity practices.
- Ensure the protection of connected systems, cloud infrastructure, operational technology, and complex technology ecosystems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing security organization focused on technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Translate complex cybersecurity risks into actionable business insights and recommendations for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Create security metrics, dashboards, and reporting structures that provide visibility into organizational risk, operational performance, and strategic progress.
- Evaluate and optimize security tools, monitoring platforms, access management solutions, and operational controls to support continued growth.
- Support executive and board-level discussions related to security strategy, risk management, compliance initiatives, audits, and incident preparedness.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related disciplines, including leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading security teams within high-growth technology organizations, startups, or rapidly scaling environments.
- Deep technical expertise across cloud security, enterprise security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security.
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance programs, including security policies, risk assessments, audit preparation, SOX ITGC, and SOC 2 readiness.
- Experience partnering with engineering and product teams to implement secure development practices, application security controls, and infrastructure protections.
- Demonstrated success building and maturing incident response programs, escalation frameworks, and operational security capabilities.
- Strong understanding of modern security ecosystems, monitoring technologies, access controls, endpoint management, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Ability to balance business objectives with security requirements while making practical, risk-based decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage technical teams, executives, auditors, customers, and board members.
- Proven leadership style characterized by accountability, collaboration, transparency, and operational excellence.
- Experience securing cloud-based, IoT, robotics, operational technology, or cyber-physical environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with public-company readiness initiatives, enterprise compliance programs, acquisitions, vendor due diligence, or customer security reviews is considered an asset.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $220,000 to $340,000 CAD for candidates based in Canada.
- Equity participation opportunities as part of the total compensation package.
- Fully remote work environment with flexibility across Canada.
