Job Summary
As a Personal Trainer is responsible for managing and motivating a client, driving personal training revenue, and delivering exceptional client experiences. This role involves administering fitness assessments, building customized workout plans, supporting sales efforts, and promoting a positive and inclusive fitness culture. A Personal Trainer plays a key role in ensuring members achieve their health goals while helping the club reach its business targets.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Trainer
- Lead, manage, and motivate members to achieve fitness and health goals.
- Administer fitness assessments to help members identify and reach their goals.
- Monitor and assist client to ensure proper form and technique during workouts.
- Develop individualized training programs for members based on personal fitness goals.
- Drive personal training product integration into the club’s sales process.
Member Engagement & Support
- Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all members, guests, and staff.
- Conduct facility tours and sign up new members.
- Address member concerns and questions professionally and promptly.
- Offer continuous support to members throughout their fitness journey.
Club Operations & Cleanliness
- Ensure the club remains clean, safe, and organized.
- Report and respond to any safety issues or maintenance concerns.
- Support club events to promote fitness awareness and member engagement.
Sales & Community Outreach
- Support marketing efforts by helping with events and initiatives to attract new members.
- Promote personal training packages and orientation sessions to maximize participation.
- Contribute to the club’s overall sales goals through personal training and fitness consultations.
Other Duties
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the success of the broader business objectives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working in the fitness industry or in personal training roles preferred
- Sales experience is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

- Strong problem-resolution and decision-making abilities
Operational Awareness
- Understanding of fitness center operations, safety standards, and cleanliness expectations
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems)
Certifications Required
- Required:
- Personal Trainer Certification from a nationally recognized organization required
(e.g., NASM, ACE, NESTA, ISSA, NPTI, NSCA, NATA, or Cooper Institute)
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
Preferred:
- Group Fitness Certification
- Additional fitness or wellness-related certifications (e.g., nutrition, corrective exercise)
