Job Description

We are a growing South Florida law firm looking for an exceptional Director of Operations to help lead the next chapter of our growth.

This is not simply an operations job. This is a high-trust leadership position for someone who knows how to take a vision and turn it into action, accountability, systems, and results.

Our firm is forward-thinking, positive, people-centered, and growing. We have big goals for the future and need an experienced operational leader who can help us scale thoughtfully—without losing the culture and client experience that made us successful.

The right person is an implementer at heart. They enjoy taking big ideas and answering: What is the plan? Who owns it? When will it be done? How will we measure it?

This person will work closely with the Owner and leadership team, help strengthen department leaders, improve profitability and performance, solve problems before they become emergencies, and make sure important initiatives actually get across the finish line.

This role requires someone confident enough to respectfully challenge ideas, provide facts and recommendations, and then fully support and execute the final decision.

Our philosophy is simple:

Challenge respectfully. Decide clearly. Execute completely.

This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who wants more than a job. We are looking for someone who wants to help build, strengthen, and scale an organization and make a meaningful impact on the people and clients we serve.

Compensation:

$140,000 - $165,000

Responsibilities:
  • Translate the Owner's vision and firm goals into clear plans, priorities, owners, deadlines, budgets, KPIs, and results

  • Oversee day-to-day business operations and ensure departments are operating effectively

  • Lead, coach, and hold department leaders accountable for performance and results

  • Build scalable systems, workflows, SOPs, and accountability structures

  • Create and monitor firmwide KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, and major projects

  • Identify operational problems and solve them before they require Owner involvement

  • Partner with leadership on strategic growth and expansion into new markets

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, staffing costs, profitability, cash flow, and ROI

  • Improve efficiency, productivity, technology adoption, and use of firm systems

  • Strengthen the client journey from initial contact through completion, reviews, and referrals

  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and difficult personnel decisions

  • Work closely with marketing, business development, intake, sales, legal teams, finance, HR, and administration

  • Protect and strengthen the firm's culture and core values as the organization grows

  • Maintain a hands-on understanding of what is actually happening throughout the firm—not simply what reports say

  • Take ownership of major initiatives and ensure they are completed

The goal is not simply to keep the firm running. It is to help build an organization that becomes stronger, more profitable, more accountable, and more scalable as it grows.

Qualifications:

The right candidate will have a demonstrated record of leading, building, improving, and scaling organizations.

  • Significant operations and leadership experience, preferably in a growing professional-services organization

  • Law firm leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Prior experience as a Director of Operations, COO, VP of Operations, Practice Administrator, Integrator, or comparable senior leadership role

  • Proven experience leading managers and high-performing teams

  • Demonstrated success turning strategy and ideas into measurable results

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgets, profitability, labor costs, forecasting, and ROI

  • Strong understanding of KPIs, dashboards, accountability, and performance management

  • Experience building and improving systems, processes, and organizational structure

  • Comfortable holding people accountable and having difficult conversations with kindness and professionalism

  • Strong judgment, emotional intelligence, discretion, and communication skills

  • Proactive problem-solver who brings facts, options, and recommendations—not just problems

  • Comfortable working directly with a forward-thinking, visionary Owner

  • Able to respectfully disagree without ego and fully execute once a decision has been made

  • Adaptable and calm in a growing organization where priorities may evolve

  • High level of ownership, initiative, dependability, and follow-through

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced business, legal, or leadership education is a plus

  • Experience with EOS, Scaling Up, or similar business operating systems is a plus

  • Must work in-office in South Florida and be willing to travel between firm locations and future markets as needed. While occasional flexibility may be available, we believe great leadership happens through visibility, collaboration, coaching, and being present with the team.

Most importantly, this person must be someone the leadership team can trust.

What We Offer

We believe great people should be supported both professionally and personally. Our benefits include:

  • Competitive base salary

  • Performance-based bonus opportunity

  • Health insurance

  • Dental insurance

  • Vision insurance

  • Long-Term Disability (LTD)

  • Life insurance

  • 401(k) with employer match
