- Lead and manage engineering teams by owning delivery, execution, and operational excellence, ensuring high-quality and predictable outcomes across projects.
- Partner closely with product managers and stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and align engineering efforts with business and customer needs.
- Provide technical oversight through code reviews, architecture discussions, and design feedback to maintain strong engineering standards.
- Drive performance management by giving continuous feedback, addressing challenges proactively, and supporting engineers’ growth and development.
- Mentor and coach engineers through individualized development plans and foster a strong culture of learning and accountability.
- Improve engineering processes, promote transparency, and raise the technical bar across teams and initiatives.
- Participate actively in hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent in a rapidly scaling organization.
- Take ownership of challenges and proactively solve problems with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of software development experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role such as Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Founder.
- Proven experience managing agile, high-performing, distributed engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
- Strong track record in performance management, including coaching engineers and addressing performance challenges constructively.
- Ability to translate complex and ambiguous problems into clear, actionable engineering solutions with a customer-first mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong technical fluency in system design and software engineering, with hands-on development experience.
- Comfortable navigating difficult conversations, providing direct feedback, and making decisive leadership decisions.
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
- Bonus: experience in startup environments, familiarity with modern web technologies such as TypeScript, React, NestJS, or microservices architectures, and experience supporting distributed applications.
