About This Position
Position Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items according to established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role works as part of a collaborative kitchen team and ensures food is consistently high quality and delivered in a timely manner.
Summary of PositionCooks operate in a fast-paced environment and are expected to contribute to all areas of food production, including prep, line cooking, catering, and kitchen cleaning. This position requires strict adherence to kitchen standards, health codes, and cleaning procedures, while maintaining a positive, team-oriented culture. Cooks will also learn new recipes and menu items as offerings change.
Duties & Responsibilities- Set up and stock workstations according to kitchen standards
- Prepare, cook, and package menu items following recipe cards and portion standards
- Read and interpret food tickets and execute orders in a timely manner
- Maintain safe and sanitary practices in compliance with health department regulations
- Properly cool, reheat, and store food according to safety standards
- Safely operate kitchen and line equipment
- Garnish and plate dishes according to standards
- Respond to special guest requests with urgency and professionalism
- Arrive on time, in uniform, and ready to work as scheduled
- Remain flexible to support teammates based on business volume
- Participate in training and learning of new recipes and menu updates
- Maintain overall kitchen cleanliness, including dish areas, floors, and storage
- Perform any other duties as assigned

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Washington State Food Worker Card required
- Ability to lift and carry 20–50 lbs, including up and down stairs
- Ability to stand and work in a hot, fast-paced environment for extended periods
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous kitchen experience preferred
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Shifts typically range from 4 to 8 hours
- Average of 3–5 shifts per week depending on availability and business needs
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required
- Opening and closing duties may extend beyond standard operating hours
- Schedules are subject to change based on company and management needs
