The Opportunity

Position Title: Family Preservation Worker - Urban

Location: Prince George, BC

Employment Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week

What You’ll Do

As our Family Preservation Worker, you will provides a range of supports aimed at promoting the well-being of children, youth and families. This position provides support to families who have experienced child protection interventions.

  • Gathers information relevant to the client by interviewing, observing behaviour, meeting with caregivers and service providers and using a variety of inventories, checklists and questionnaires
  • Provides support, guidance and problem-solving to clients to address issues related to family functioning in an individual or group setting using techniques such as active listening, conflict resolution, basic group counselling techniques and psycho-educational group methods to resolve the identified problems, needs and risks
  • Develop and implement a Family Service Plan
  • Attend court with clients

What You Will Bring to The Role

  • Bachelor of Social Work, Child & Youth Care or a comparable degree; or
  • Social Services Diploma with two years extensive experience

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $32.8473 to $42.5381 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity
