Chief Information Officer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chief Information Officer based in United States.

This executive leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering a comprehensive technology vision that supports business growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
The position combines strategic direction with hands-on technology leadership in a cloud-first SaaS environment.
You will oversee enterprise technology functions including infrastructure, security, business systems, data platforms, and governance.
The role requires close collaboration with executive, product, and engineering teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure technology operations.
You will lead modernization initiatives, strengthen cybersecurity practices, and optimize technology investments to maximize business value.

Accountabilities:

The Chief Information Officer will lead the enterprise technology strategy, ensuring that systems, security, and operational capabilities enable business growth while maintaining reliability, compliance, and customer trust.

  • Define and execute a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives, product priorities, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic technology advisor to executive leadership, providing guidance on risks, opportunities, investments, and modernization priorities.
  • Establish technology governance frameworks, operating models, standards, performance metrics, and decision-making processes.
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across IT, cybersecurity, business applications, and technology operations.
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to improve SaaS reliability, incident management, release processes, observability, and service performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on availability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Own and mature cybersecurity programs, including data protection, identity management, access controls, vulnerability management, and security awareness.
  • Lead technology risk management activities, including third-party risk assessments, audits, penetration testing, and compliance readiness.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure strategy, collaboration tools, enterprise platforms, and cost optimization initiatives through effective cloud and SaaS spend management.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for customer security reviews, technology discussions, and strategic partner engagements.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions through technology due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition stabilization.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced technology executive with a strong background in enterprise IT leadership, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and SaaS operations.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise technology strategy, operations, and delivery.
  • Proven experience operating in cloud-first SaaS environments with high availability, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Strong track record of building and managing effective technology teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Deep expertise within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, identity management, security, and hybrid environments.
  • Experience developing technology governance models, operational frameworks, and performance measurement practices.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, risk management, and technology controls.
  • Experience supporting regulated or mission-critical environments with audit readiness and strong governance standards.
  • Demonstrated success leading M&A technology integration initiatives, including due diligence and post-close execution.
  • Ability to enable secure and efficient operations for globally distributed teams.
  • Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to balance innovation with operational excellence.
